We use diamond abrasive restoration to hone or polish natural stone. This produces the best mirror-like finish available. This does require water in most cases and thus much time is spent on preparation to protect adjoining areas.
This process involves “sanding” away w/ diamond pads, a microscopic layer of the stone so as to remove any scratches/damage which causes it to lose its shine. Once imperfections are removed a series of diamond grits are used to achieve an extremely smooth surface that can then be polished.
